Good morning, world! I just drank a ton of a Mixed-Berry Banana smoothie, which was super easy to make as well as surprisingly sweet, considering the lack of any added sweeteners. The recipe is so simple, just fruit and water:
-3 medium size bananas*
-2 cups frozen mixed berries
-1 cup water
Blend all ingredients until desired consistency is reached and serve!
*The key point here is to use ripe bananas, meaning they should be covered in brown spots, not yellow. Not only do under-ripe bananas taste far less sweet, the texture is less creamy and they are hard to digest, as our bodies are designed for ripe fruit with fully developed sugars.
I made two batches of this smoothie and drank both up fairly quickly. Smoothies seem like such a treat, but it feels so good to drink them knowing how good they are for me, too! Yum!
